Be very, very careful what you think.

Your thoughts produce actions, your actions have produced your life.

Have you ever heard of karma or reaping and sowing? I have two stories to share on this subject, yet thoughts before theories and stories.

In the movie inception starring Leonardo Dicaprio, the filmmakers provided a stunning visual surrounding the power of suggestion. The main characters navigate people's dreams in order to complete various missions. Dreams have layers in the movie, and the deeper the characters go, the harder it is to tell when they themselves are actually awake. The conceptual climax of the movie is when we are lead into the main characters darkest secret. Down and down we go with him down a dark elevator, which opens to a quiet room. Here we meet a woman, his wife, who kills herself because of something he did. No longer able to tell reality from the dreams, she follows through with suicide thinking her children and life were a dream.

History sings and mourns over people of great goodness and great evil. Do you know what Mother Theresa and Adolf Hitler had in common? They both had a beginning. Many people could go for hours telling you of their misfortunes, most news stations make a living off this kind of information. Every polling agency functioning during 2018 are producing information about the changes in the world. Many of these changes drain people of energy, and hope. Yet in this reality of reaping what we have sown, is hope. Let's examine an ancient parable surrounding this concept from centuries ago.

The Parable of the Sower

13 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

If you are reading Reasology articles for the first time, welcome! We invite you to read our articles surrounding reality and perspective in order to follow this next point. Children, generally are the equivalent of a blank video and audio recorder. It is blank now, but it is designed to quickly gather a lot of information. My wife and I have worked with just about every type of social group in the United States. Inmates, billionaires, geniuses, homeless, religious, international, mentally unstable and on and on it goes. When we sit-down to quantify some of the data, it will be extensive, yet what did we find?

Always consider someone's beginning to understand why they are who they are.

Weldon Long was a three time convicted felon serving quite a bit of time at supermax in Colorado. 30+ years old, no idea where his son is, losing his father without being able to redeem himself and owning nothing but one pair of clothes. He sat in a homeless shelter and seeds that had been planted back in his prison cell began to sprout. Dr. Stephen Covey has impacted millions, Weldon is among the most impressive. Using toothpaste and a piece of paper he stuck one of Dr. Covey's "habits" to his cell. "Start with the end in mind". Day after day he stared at this, allowing the seeds to get water and good soil, until one day roots.

Weldon asked himself, how do I want this story to end? His cellmates thought he was nuts, yet he began to visualize himself as a good dad and successful man. When I met Weldon he was one of the most successful HVAC salespeople in the country. Why? All his life those poor seeds of his childhood filled his belly with rotten, disgusting fruit. One day a good seed fell, produced a crop a hundred times what was sown and bore fruit that even his son enjoyed.

Right now, seeds are being planted. You control the majority of seeds that fall on your soil, you control what your response will be to the plants growing in your garden.

I challenge you to think as deep as you are able on that last sentence.

Your thoughts produce actions, your actions have produced your life.
