Black Beauty ~ How To Thrive In The Marketplace As The Beautiful Black Professional Woman that God H

For today’s post, I’m covering 3 of the challenges, because I believe the solutions for these are all-encompassing.
The three challenges are listed as follows:
1. The desire to be treated equally
2. The challenge of exceeding work performance expectations
3. The challenge of getting beyond the concrete ceiling of promotion
In keeping with the themed solutions for each of these challenges, I cannot stress highly enough how you are treasured by the Lord God Almighty!
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” -Psalm 37:23
The Lord cares about your ‘go through’ in the workplace. It truly matters to Him that the struggle gets real as a black professional woman. But God has made you a joint heir with Jesus Christ. You are seated FAR above and He wants that to be your experience in every aspect of your life.
My encouragement to you is to let go of focusing on the popular stigmas of having to work twice as hard as your white peers, feeling like you cannot level up because race and gender seem to be a the solidifying component that keeps you down, or seeing the subtle yet extremely obvious racial inequality.
It's important to focus on the Lord God Almighty who is simply Greater!
When we look at the Old Testament character Daniel, we see that he was captured and enslaved by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Daniel was a minority, a slave in a foreign country. But Daniel was committed to following God. Even in his position, Daniel did more than work twice as hard…
“Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire.” (Daniel 6:3 NLT)
Daniel excelled in his work ethic.
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.” (Colossians 3:23-25)
AND 2 MOST IMPORTANT TRUTHS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION...
“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.” (Psalm 75:6-7 KJV)
“A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.” (Proverbs 18:16)
When you, daughter of the Most High God, have been called into the marketplace, God has equipped you for that success. He intends for you to do very well. God delights in the prosperity of his servants! (Psalm 35:27)
The gift that God has placed in you for the marketplace is intended to place you before great men! I share these Scriptures because we are IN the world but not OF the world, and God operates ONLY in His realm and economy, not man’s. He’s a God of intention and strategy. His yoke is easy, His burden is light, and so you do not have to strive, scrape, and hustle like the world does.
You simply need to know God’s Word, focus on it day and night, and follow the instructions (Joshua 1:8), and you will succeed!
God has a strategy, a roadmap to your success. You simply need to stay on that path.
“See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you." (Exodus 23:20)
You are blessed to be a blessing and whom God blesses, no man can curse. Queen Esther, Joseph, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are just a few of many examples of minorities who God elevated to the top. God has no favorites. What He did for those, He will do for you!
