Black Beauty ~ How To Thrive In The Marketplace As The Beautiful Black Professional Woman that God H

Although this is the 4th post regarding the challenges that black professional women face in the marketplace, this is the MOST important.

I pray that as you sit back with a cup of your ‘favorite,' that this particular post sparks a paradigm shift in your life. I pray that this shift inspires breakthroughs of success.

How Do You Deal With Negative Thoughts???

Proverbs 23:7 tells us that, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Your life as it is right now is the sum-total of your thoughts. I don’t mean random thoughts here and there. I mean the thoughts that you consistently dwell on, thoughts that consume your time. The best way to annihilate a problem is to destroy it at its source…the root of the problem. When you destroy the root of a weed, the entire weed dies. But if you only snip off the top of the weed, the weed will continue to grow.

In other words: If you want to change your life, you must change your mind!

“And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God,” (Romans 12:2). This scripture is the anchor of your life; God does not want us to think like the rest of the world, He wants us think the life-giving, overcoming, more-than-a-conqueror, thoughts. It’s vitally important to grasp, embrace and anchor this truth because it is absolutely impossible to live contrary to your beliefs. What you believe affects how you live, (your words and actions).

‘But how do I renew my mind?’ you ask. Replace the negative thought with the truth of God's word, and focus on that. Make that your dominant thought. Really think about it deeply...see it in your mind/imagine it. In essence this is the law of attraction defined: What you think about, you bring about.

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do," Joshua 1:9. Your thoughts inspire your words…words have creative power, (a post for another day), and both inspire your actions!

Do you SEE yourself being successful in your field of expertise in the marketplace, or are you constantly dwelling on the challenges that you face? Do you see yourself being the top producer, or do you see the roadblocks that hinder your production? What you focus on will be what you experience. Change your focus and you will change your experiences. Instead of focusing on the way the world works, focus on the way God works. You won’t regret it.
